Position Description:

The Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking staff clinicians to provide high-quality patient care for individuals with primary central nervous system (CNS) malignancies.  The NOB is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of physicians, healthcare providers, and scientists who are dedicated to developing new therapies and improving outcomes for patients with primary brain and spinal cord tumors.

The NOB is one of the first trans-institutional initiatives at the National Institutes of Health. The Branch is focused on developing an integrated clinical, translational, and basic research program that engages the strengths and resources of the National Cancer Institutes (NCI) and the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) for the purpose of developing novel experimental therapeutics for individuals with primary central nervous system (CNS) malignancies.

The successful candidate must have a M.D. and be board certified (or equivalent) in neurology or medical oncology with specialized training in neuro-oncology.  He or she must demonstrate ability to provide high-quality patient care and initiate and participate in clinical research trials.  The incumbent must demonstrate leadership skills as well as skills in establishing and maintaining active collaborations. The position will involve interactions across NIH and non-NIH institutes.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
