The 2019 MariaDB User Conference

Where MariaDB experts and practitioners meet to exchange ideas, best practices and success stories. Join us in NYC to share journeys on open source strategies and infrastructure modernization with MariaDB.

MariaDB OpenWorks offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn about open source strategies and best practices in infrastructure modernization with MariaDB. Attendees of this year’s conference will get:

  • A full day dedicated to hands-on technical workshops
  • An inside look at the MariaDB product vision and roadmap
  • The chance to take the official MariaDB certification exam
  • Time to kick back and network with your fellow MariaDB community members

As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm. In this case, that means you not only score a legendary price, but you get early access to workshop sign up – which is a big deal since workshops sold out quickly at our 2018 conference. Early-bird pricing ends at 11:59 PM PT, November 30. Don’t miss out!

Call for Papers

We’re looking for innovators, leaders and seasoned professionals with expertise in operations and/or development to share their knowledge and experience with MariaDB customers and community members from around the world.

We’re interested in the challenges you’ve faced, the lessons you’ve learned and the best practices you’ve developed – use cases, success stories and strategies too.

If you’ve been in the trenches and led the way forward, submit a session proposal for one of the following tracks to share your experience with MariaDB:

Real World  Adopting and embracing MariaDB in the enterprise to solve business challenges and drive innovation

Operations  Gaining operational agility with cloud/container infrastructure, automated provisioning and transparent routing, sharding and failover

Development  Building modern applications with advanced SQL (e.g., temporal queries) and flexible schemas (e.g., hybrid relational/JSON data models)

Analytics  Driving faster time-to-insight with ad-hoc, interactive analytics on near real-time data, and scaling to support 100s of billions of rows

If your proposal is accepted, you’ll receive a free all-access pass and an invitation to the VIP speakers’ dinner.

We are pleased to offer the MariaDB Certified Database Administrator Associate Exam to OpenWorks attendees interested in testing their MariaDB skills. The exam, available only at our annual user conference, tests DBAs on how to configure, tune and troubleshoot MariaDB databases.

Successful completion of the exam ensures that you’re able to adeptly perform the following associate-level MariaDB tasks:

  • Basic configuration
  • Security
  • User and role assignment
  • Schema operations
  • Performance tuning
  • Backup and restore

You’ll have 90 minutes to take the exam, and you may take it two times during the conference. The exam is first come, first served; no advance sign-up is required. If you pass the exam, you will receive an official certification from MariaDB.
