The Senior Tech Development Officer (“SDO”) is responsible for developing strategies and processes for College of Pharmacy intellectual property. The SDO and supervisor will interface with the OSU Technology Commercialization Office, and the SDO will provide information on potential licensing partners, market analyses, and assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies for high priority technologies. The SDO participates in, or guides licensing officers’ negotiations, as well as demonstrating valuation. The IP scope is in pharmaceutical sciences, including therapeutic and diagnostic technologies. The SDO is responsible for recommending and implementing new business development strategies for the College, including Biopharmaceutical company engagement, technology investment and collaboration. The SDO interfaces with other College technology development officers in the development of joint research projects. The SDO is also responsible for mentoring and supporting faculty and student development related to technology development and intellectual property.
