An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Team Administrator in the Section of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism to support a research team led by Dr Channa Jayasena, Clinical Senior Lecturer in Reproductive Endocrinology.

Duties and responsibilities

As a Research Team Administrator you will provide personal assistance to Dr Jayasena and his research group. This will include but not be limited to, maintaining academic diaries, booking travel, managing expenses, producing minutes for meetings and assisting in the team’s offsite workshops and meetings.

Essential requirements

The successful candidate must demonstrate as part of their application an ability to work flexibly within a busy team environment, be willing to support colleagues and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively. We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience of administration within a fast-paced environment, and managing a varied workload.

You must also have experience providing an excellent and proactive customer service and effective support to senior colleagues. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working flexibly with a degree of autonomy, and working with minimal supervision.

Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work methodically, keep accurate records and to organise complex information in an effective manner is essential for this role.

It is essential that applicants are familiar with and proficient in the use of windows software, including PowerPoint, SharePoint and website editing.

Further information

The post is offered on a 12 months fixed term contract with the potential to extend subject to confirmation of funding.
