**_What You Will Do_**
The Office of Weapons Program Strategy & Integration (WP-SI) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the areas of Systems Engineering and Operations Research. The selected candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting a broad range of planning activities with a focus on developing system models to represent business or programmatic units, understanding interdependencies, and performing analyses.
The candidate will engage in one or more of the following areas:
+ Development of algorithms or models to represent complex data sets with constitutive relationships representing dependencies between sub-systems
+ Development of methods to manage large data sets at different levels of resolution and time scale to simulate systems operations
+ Application of operations research and/or systems engineering techniques and methodologies to problems of asset/resource management and trade-space studies
**_What You Need_**
**Minimum Job Requirements:**
+ Experience in systems modeling and analysis, optimization, or related areas
+ Knowledge of, or ability to learn, programming languages or commercial software, such as Python, Java and/or SQL
+ Excellent writing and communication skills
+ Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance, which typically requires U.S. citizenship.
+ Knowledge of approaches to model complex systems including uncertainty and sensitivity analysis
+ Experience in big-data processing and analyses
+ Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings
A Ph.D. within the last 5 years (or prior to employment) in mathematics, statistics, operations or systems engineering research or a related discipline.
