An experienced Research Finance Officer (RFO) is required to join The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. This is a key role in the Research Operations Office team working with the School’s Faculties
The post is primarily responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of complex research projects for a wide range of funders. This is a busy and varied role that requires the post holder to: prepare financial reports for funders, monitor income from funders, raise supplier invoices, approve high-value financial transactions, give advice and guidance on funders’ terms and conditions (post award), perform financial assessments of application budgets and provide an efficient service to budget holders in the Faculty.
The successful candidate will also have responsibility for quality assurance and compliance on matters concerning their portfolio and for implementing any changes to systems and processes.
Applicants must have significant experience of working within a finance role, ideally in a higher education research administration environment, and strong IT and inter-personal skills. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise their workload effectively to meet deadlines, to work independently and to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with the Agresso financial system is highly desirable.

The post is full time and permanent The salary will be on the Professional salary scale Grade 5 in the range £34,238 to £39,304 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
