Posting Summary Provide bioinformatics analyses of genomic data sets obtained from Next generation sequencing (NGS)-based research projects to support NIH-funded programs in cancer and bone within the Stein and Lian laboratories. Projects involve analyses of mRNA, miRNA and lncRNA expression and various levels of chromatin conformation capture data, as well as genome-wide profiles of transcription factor binding and histone post-translational modifications. Interact with individual investigators to refine raw sequencing data and provide integrative analysis to establish functional correlations that address specific biological questions.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with emphasis on bioinformatics analyses and three to five years of related experience required. Ability to support Galaxy computer programs and generate scripts for analyzing biological questions for large genomic data sets required.
Desirable Qualifications Experience with bioinformatic analysis of NGS data sets and data visualization desirable.
