The Center for Sport Leadership at VCU is committed to the education and preparation of future professionals in the public and private sectors of the sport industry. By focusing on its core values (collaborative, empowering, global minded, accountable, authentic), faculty and staff work toward developing students who will become the next generation of leaders in the coaching and administration of sport. The CSL is a graduate level program, offering Master of Sport Leadership (on campus and
online), a dual degree (M.S.L./MBA), and a Ph.D. in Education (sport leadership track).

Post- Doctoral Fellowship:
The post-doctoral fellowship in the Center for Sport Leadership (CSL) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) provides support to promising applicants with the potential to become productive, independent scholars and teachers in the field of sport management. The fellowship will foster the academic career of one scholar who has recently received his or her Ph.D., by permitting him or her to pursue research while gaining mentored experience as an instructor in the CSL.

The fellowship comes with an expectation of teaching one graduate-level course per semester, in addition to a strong focus on scholarship and research productivity. Applicants should have comfort in the classroom, and should have a clearly articulated, if not established, line of research. Due to the collaborative nature of the CSL faculty, we are seeking applicants who thrive in a team setting and will be committed to the overall goals of the CSL. This position would be ideal for someone looking to further his or her own line of research, while gaining valuable teaching experience, before moving into a tenure-track position.

Stipend and Resources:
The fellowship runs from July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021. Fellows receive a base salary of $50,000 plus benefits, as well as a travel/professional development budget of $1,500. The selected fellow will be provided office and working space, as well as access to research needs or equipment.
