Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice or Lecturer position to begin August 16, 2020. This position is a non-tenure track academic year appointment, with primary responsibility to teach a selection of courses in the Nuclear Power Generation Systems (NPGS) minor and Mechanical Engineering. The position is renewable annually and summer teaching opportunities could also be available, both subject to availability of funds. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to the NPGS and Department of Mechanical Engineering educational programs. A typical teaching load will be three courses per semester, which includes course and laboratory development and management activities. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn’s founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama.
